The Simpsons Game is an action video game which is based on the animated television series The Simpsons. It was developed and published by Electronic Arts for Xbox 360 console. It was released in North America in October 2007 but later on in November 2007 it was released worldwide. The game is based on the original storyline of the television series written by Tim Long, Matt Selman and Matt Warburton. In the game the Simpson’s family discovers that they are forced to enter in another The Simpson’s video game. The game pokes funny elements at popular culture. The game includes the five Simpsons family members. They include Homer, Marge (with Maggie), Bart and Lisa. All of these learn that they are a part of a video game and are provided with specific super powers in order to resolve several situations. On the other hand they must save their 8-bit predecessors from Will Wright and Matt Groening. Will Wright is the antagonist of the game while Matt Groening is the creator of their video game characters. The Simpson’s family goes through four scenarios which are the parodies of other video game. There they collect key cards. These key cards are used to infiltrate their creator’s mansion. This ultimately leads to save their predecessors from being destroyed. The first level is “The Land of Chocolate”. In this level Homer is the first character available to play with. He can convert into “Homer Ball” by eating power-ups. In this way he can roll and slam objects. He can also convert into “Gummi Homer” by eating small gummi Venus de Milos consequently shooting to gummi grenades. Homer’s special power is a giant burp which can stun enemies. Bart appears in the second level of the game “Bartman Begins”. Lisa is introduced in the fourth level “Lisa the Tree Hugger”. Marge is introduced in the 5th level “Mob Rules”. Last but not the least Maggie is an extension of Marge which helps her in playing in short spaces.
