Developed by the Finnish Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios ,Alan Wake is a thriller/horror video game with survival as its primary objective. The game follows a plot in which a man tries to uncover the secret to the mysterious vanishing of his beloved wife while they were on a vacation in a town called Bright Falls. It was all supposed to be a nice vacation that would get the minds off the busy schedules of everyday life but it all goes horrifically wrong. The game revolves around a thriller story line and has its ups and downs like a well elaborated story for the mature and narrates and unfolds in the same fashion too. As the game is released for both PC and Xbox 360, there has been no compromise on the way it’ll look. The graphics are amazing and true to life taking most of the power from the new Direct x 10 in case of the PC platform. The elements in the graphics like fog has been put to use where necessary and the flash light ,which the character carries around most of the time suggests that the lighting is pretty special too. The time of day and whether conditions are not just the average part of game graphics. In fact they play a pretty important role in how the game plays at the particular moment. The monsters and the surroundings are directly linked to the atmosphere you are in. Petite element of hand to hand fighting and using the light as a weapon are the main means of getting your hands bloody. The sounds effects will change dramatically according to situation and atmospheric conditions , going hand in hand with along the game story. Incredible voice acting and incredible graphics along with impeccable game play make this game a must play. The game is rated T “for teens ”.
